Christian Lacroix is one of France’s most famous Houte Couture designers.
He studied Museum curation at the Sorbonne and at L’École du Louvre.
At that time was influenced by18th Century history and art. In 1987 he opened his own haute couture house in partnership with Mr. Arnault and in 1989 opened boutiques in Paris, Japan, London, and Geneva.
At a time when fashion was focused on simplicity, Christian Lacroix chose mix and match.
When black became the standard, he opted for blood red, fuchsia pink and bright yellow.
With each new collection, Christian Lacroix designed pieces that combined unique materials and colors, adorning looks with luxurious baroque touches.
He brought back folklore, history and theatre, infusing them with elegance, sophistication and craftsmanship.
His unmistakable style of mixed, vibrant color patterns, experimental fabrics and historical references are still the core creative thread running through the brand's designs and its continuously evolving contemporary style.
